Someday reality of extinction or starvation will set in and traditional roles will reassert themselves when the industrial age passes and muscle power and perhaps water wheels is all we have. Now we have luxury of supermarket, microwave, take out, single life, welfare state. When all that stands between one and the grave is own exertion on a farm and the extended family then petty emotional preferences and dream fulfilment will be gone, leaving hard work and mutual commitment.
