I experienced this type of thing in US fundamentalist Christian circles. It is also prevalent in hard core communists, or was 100 years ago. People are very convinced and want to convert others. Why atheists, agnostics have given up on speakers Corner, given it over time to religious is clear. I experienced a higher perspective and do not want to fight over literalism, book learning. Average people of all religions find God inside the hearts of themselves and others. This was so before there were established religions and will remain so in any species after humans have gone extinct.
