One can imagine the living standards differences here existing. Third world poverty of gaza strip next to upper middle class hippy lifestyle. I think of Southern California and cross the border to drug lord controlled northern Mexico. Big reason US never gets directly involved militarily in Mexico. Resentment and cross border incursions would be everyday occurence.
