Very healthy attitude. After centuries of isolation and persecution they have a homeland. Not easy to keep and without it you can always be in danger but just living inside it is also limiting. For example the British empire declined but their huge empire in US, Canada, Australia maintains global power. Italians, Irish have large diasporas particularly in America. Now middle easterners, Indians, Chinese are spreading to the West where financial, military power resides. Remittances, political contacts, influence in general helps keep their countries afloat.
