The collapse video was quite disturbing. However we see in this video how feedback loops can form to stop linear predictions. For example, long before ecological doom hits, economic limits could make life unsustainable practically on a daily basis as in Soviet collapse in 90s. Civil war inthe USA or China could ensue as debt bubbles in stocks and real estate implode, causing mass impoverishment, destabilization and system change, resulting in millions dying through hunger and neglect. So a total collapse could be stopped in this way as we ratchet downwards in consumption. We are overconsuming, using debt instruments of various governments, businesses, central banks, money center banks, hedge funds. Crashing this could solve the ecological crisis and force people to live from what they earn and save, not living on credit, from grandkids potential earnings, pyramid scjheme in effect. We see that thermohaline system could short circuit civilization long before 6 degrees or 4 degrees celsius. Before 2 degrees we will likely have used up affordable fossil fuels and copper and other minerals, causing collapse in modern systems and a reversion to lower populations, negative growth.
