I've noticed this lately. I think of people, purposely visualizing them and I feel them. God is not an abstraction either. The problem is to find a form for him/her, but really God is in everything. As I have said, the dog, the lover, the trees, stars, planets. We are not alone. The background is God. We are God playing a minor subpart, thinking we are separate. Giving up this separateness takes work. Then we will see that we are never alone. We are desperate to connect with someone, maybe friendship, pet, lover, nature. It is inside.
