I had a dream that I was a soldier in a war. I guess it was past life, maybe WWII. I have worjked for years digging through chilldhood traumas and wondered how long, if ever, it would take to go beyond that. I felt quite serious and detached from my current life, pondering this dream this morning. I suppose one's Oversoul has all these past and future lives in view and as we mature somewhat in any one lifetime that we may be allowed a glimpse of some of that to strengthen our faith.

This sounds like PTSD could be eliminated with enough research into this technique. Deep trauma ghost memories can still trigger fear responses decades later. Why do we have a recurring war cycle every 80 years. People live in fear, hammered into them by their parents and grandparents, but have inadequate response. They kneejerk their way from one fear to another and end up repeating nearly the same situation as last time. History, it is said, rhymes. In the West, everyone looks at those with an opposite opinion, calls them fascist or hitler, believes all measures, no matter their actual morality are justified to eliminate them.It seems we must perceive ourselves from the outside, from a higher perspective, to avoid this perpetual destructive cycle. Maybe, as the Hindus say, only a few enlightened ones escape this karmic wheel each generation. God does not mean it to be otherwise. A golden age would, as the explanation went in the film Matrix, lead to mass suicides, due to lack of stress and struggle, through which we discover meaning.

Reading about her life, listening to the song and reading the youtube commments is very informative. Getting past abuse to a new life is difficult. Trauma or PTSD recovery can take years for soldiers, abused children, adult crime or rape victims. Spiritual people talk about becoming a butterfly. I think the transformation and death must happen in the coccoon. The scars must be healed. We cannot be reactive our whole lives, but learn to live fully. Like the typical broken heart learning to open up again, the traumatized child has a longer and deeper recovery. The sights are set both higher and lower at the same time. The impossibly demonic must be battled, within and without, while the greatest heavenly prize beyond mere human affections must be reached. The worse the trauma the greater the goal. Many have sights set on success in society of some sort or other due to parental pressures in the childhood and peer expecttations. When that is all ripped away due to trauma then social succes never satisfies. Only true deep feelings matter when everything has been numbed and money, grades, accomplishments don' t restore that emptiness. Often we were so young when it happened we don't realize how cynical and hardened we really are. Decades of spiritual work begin to pry us open. Enlightenment is a cool idea but I think most of those who are most determined on the spiritual path simply want the peace of mind of the abverage person by turning back the clock and healing the trauma. I believe this is entirely possible.

We had a shepherd collie mix growing up and he was good for a fight with other dogs and even cats. I would often see him moaning in sleep, his feet and legs twitching. I kick and turn a lot. I dreamt for example like last night that I am being threatened by someone with a sharp object and I try to kick it out of their hands, then I awakendI assume I moved my foot in a kick in bed. How am I any different, more civilized, advanced, than my old dog, socks? Men with dogs are apparently good for attracting a female partner who comments on and pets the animal. I sometimes see people who walk their dogs stopping for a talk with another dog owner. So dogs have a similar but somewhat different function depending on sex of the owners. Women need more protection and men need an excuse to make contact with people if they are less sociable. Like having kids on the playground as a young parent, it gives a source of mutual intterest.
