Female Selection: Hypergamy

Men have to be top percentile in every aspect, initiate relationships. Women end relationships, decide if it can be started so men experience lots of rejection. However being best( wealth, physique) helps the man regardless so it is not a waste of time improving oneself as it is not just for female attention( or a better job, income, status). 

So I suppose he is right here. Self love is good for one in New Age speak. If I learn to love myself then who carss what others think about me.
