I guess unemployment, inflation and life's struggles are bad enough. We have to keep pushing the envelope until something breaks. If we get an external war or great depression will the groups conflict during this time or become fused through mutual support? Or will the immigration problem be the great generational crisis, fighting over resources between groups? If it doesn't get that bad will we just limp along. More restrictive immigration policies might come and better policing, less welfare payments. In Britain local kids are not as smart as foreigners in schools I read. This is different than elsewhere in Europe. Immigrant groups vary. So after people calm down they discuss real problem areas.
