This reminds me somewhat of the 

kurt Vonegut novel Player Piano.  Men tinker with technology endlessly even to their detriment, elkminating the need for themselves. Humans are always busy, fascinated with tools. The above short animation just shows a traditional female perspective but it is universal. This separates us from animals but it seems a nonsensical endless pursuit. Performance art is full of social criticism.
