Behind Fashion : Labor Abuse

This reminds me of swearshops in NYC in early 20th century or Bangladeshi companies producing low cost clothing for large global clothing chains and their buildings collapsing on the female seamstresses.. Maybe luxury producers get more attention. One only needs to think of films of slaughterhouses. Young people view these films and turn vegan overnight. Perhaps almost no imported goods or those made using immigramt labor are produced with decent working and environmental standards demanded by Western countries. Regardless of that we gladly accept these goods. This is siimilar to meat eaters like myself ignoring certain unpleasantries. Essentially the third world has become semi-slave labor for us. Similar to the article below on products causing environmental damage, which seems entirely normal, we cllose our eyes. Unfortunately the deeper we dig, the less anything about our society is really correct, decent, moral, sustainable. We are like Romans or Pharaohs living walking on the bodies of other people or fellow creatures. A no impact life would be a hermitage where one produces all one's food and clothing.
